A relaxing week in Crete. This was my first time on the island, and I really was stunned by its natural beauty. It only really speaks to my ignorance of the place, but I had no idea firstly that it was so big, and secondly that it was so mountainous.

Everywhere we went there were vast, expansive views of the coast and the sea in one direction, and rugged, layered mountains and valleys in the other. We were staying in the west of the island, near Chania, but flew into Heraklion (around 150km away, in the east) so got to enjoy the stunning mountainous coastal roads on the way there.
